LOCK BUMPING

WHAT ARE
YOUR OPTIONS?

Basically, if you bought
your lock from
a hardware store
it's probably vulnerable
to a bump key attack.

If you did not
specifically purchase a
high security lock

from a locksmith,
it is probably vulnerable.

Lock bumping is the use of a modified key that can be inserted into a lock and "bumped" to momentarily redistribute the pins in the cylinder and open the lock.

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

  • Using UL Listed Cylinders with a UL-437 rating that are drill resistant.
  • Dual Locking Mechanisms that include additional cuts on the key to operate a second set of pin tumblers inside the cylinder.
  • Restricted Keyways and Controlled Duplication of Keys

As Security Professionals, we can help you to determine the best method to secure your home or business.  We can provide you with High Security Medeco or ASSA cylinders and deadbolts or our exclusive RX2 System which is a restricted keyway system that you control the duplications of keys only by your authorized users.

If you are concerned that your locks could be susceptible to lock bumping the best thing to do is to contact us for a survey of the locks used at your property. We will then be able to tell you if you are at risk from lock bumping techniques and can recommend new locks that cannot be bumped.  Please contact us today for a free estimate.
